Enrolment Process
Year 7 Enrolment
The largest annual intake of students is into Year 7. The following is the process leading to Year 7 enrolment .
- Parents/guardians lodge an application for enrolment at the College. Application forms are available from the College Office. Phone the Enrolments Secretary on 02 9957 5000.
- Accompanying Applications Forms should be copies of: Birth Certificate, Baptismal Certificate, Results of the NSW Basic Skills Tests in Literacy and Numeracy, the most recent School Report - usually from Year 5, and any additional information the College would need, such as specialist reports on learning issues or special needs. A Registration Fee of $200.00 is required at this stage.
- Enrolment Interviews are held two years prior to the commencement of Year 7, when a student is in Year 5. All who make application are interviewed. Parents and sons are interviewed by the Headmaster or another senior member of staff.
- At the conclusion of interviews and the enrolment period, all applications are reviewed. The criteria outlined in the College's Enrolment Policy are used to determine which boys are offered places initially, which ones are not and which ones are placed on the official waiting list. Parents are notified within two months of the official Enrolment Interview Day.
- Parents wishing to accept the offer of enrolment must sign and return the Confirmation of Enrolment Form, and other documentation. A non-refundable Confirmation Fee of $600.00 is required at this time. This fee includes the cost of the annual Year 7 Camp which is held in February each year.
- In the year prior to the commencement of Year 7 an Information Evening for parents and boys, an Orientation Day at the College for boys and a Uniform Fitting Day, are all held to facilitate a smooth transition to Marist College North Shore.
Enrolment in Other Years
For many reasons parents/guardians seek enrolment for their sons into other Years or into Year 7 after the official enrolment period. Some of these are for commencement at the start of the school year; others for a start during the school year. In all cases the process is the same.
- All enrolments are subject to the availability of places. It is possible that no vacancies will be available for a particular Year.
- Parents lodge an application form accompanied by copies of Birth and Baptisimal Certificates, the student's most recent School Reports and, if appropriate, the results of the NAPLAN Tests. A Registration fee of $200.00 is required.
- If a place is available or likely to become available in the near future an Enrolment Interview is arranged with the Headmaster or another suitable member of staff.
- Following the interview the Headmaster will decide whether the student is suited to the College. If so, a place will be offered. All enrolments are at the Headmaster's discretion.
- At times Probationary Enrolments for a trial period are offered to help ascertain the suitability of the student to the College.
- To accept and finalise the enrolment parents/guardians must sign and return the Confirmation of Enrolment Form, and other documentation. A non-refundable Confirmation Fee of $330.00 is required at this time.
