Headmaster's Welcome
For over 120 years Marist education has helped form boys from the North Shore area into young men who are good Christians and responsible citizens.
That this has been the case is testimony to the durability and efficacy of the philosophy that underpins the endeavours of this school. First and foremost is our concern for the whole life of each student. Here education is much more than the acquisition of knowledge. It depends on spiritual, moral, social, as well as intellectual development. We recognise that each boy has innate gifts and unique strengths. By providing personal care and attention we seek to promote these attributes and develop the student's sense of confidence and esteem. We believe that this is best achieved in a strong community setting. Deliberate efforts are made to nurture a family spirit within the school, so that each boy is welcomed, affirmed and supported. The medium-size of the school facilitates interaction between students and between students and staff. A well organised, caring environment, a clear set of values and professional, dedicated teachers encourage each boy to achieve his potential.
Jesus Christ is central to the life of the school. He is presented to the boys as the model of human life and faith who they should emulate and follow. His values are the foundation of the school's policies and operations. His message of love and compassion is the basis of the attitudes and outlook we challenge the boys to develop.
With the support and co-operation of the family, Marist seeks to provide an integrated and comprehensive program that, for every student, promotes faith, encourages excellence, engenders responsibility and develops respect and dignity. In this way we believe we can continue to assist boys become young men who are good Christians and responsible citizens.
